From June to September, Puerto Vallarta is one of the few places where sea turtles leave their ocean home to make nests on the beach and lay their eggs. In order to keep the these baby turtles safe from predators, there are protection programs that gather the newly hatched eggs and incubate them for 45 days until they hatch. Visitors can help the survival of these tiny creatures by releasing them towards the ocean at night. Velas Vallarta offers Turtle Camp which for only $5 Visitors get to hold and release newborn turtles.
